About the Role
JOB TITLE: Audit Manager
ROLE TYPE: Full time, permanent
LOCATION: Hertfordshire (North Herts)
HOURS/DAYS (per week): Monday to Friday, 36.25 hrs per week, hybrid working (2 days at home pw)
SALARY RANGE: COMPETITIVE SALARY (depending on experience, salaries will range)
NOTICE & PROBATION PERIODS: 3 month notice, probation tbc
BENEFITS/BONUSES/HOLIDAYS: 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, along with 3 days over Christmas. Flexible working hours (core hours between 10am to 4pm) and hybrid working (2 days from home per week). Study support provided (if necessary), and also other perks to be discussed in further detail (e.g. income protection, and long-service bonuses).
COMPANY CULTURE & SUMMARY: My client is a wonderfully professional, established, and dynamic accountancy practice based in North Hertfordshire and they're looking for an AUDIT MANAGER to join them. They are a highly respected accountancy firm operating within accounts, tax, advisory, and audit. The firm is ever increasing in size, now having over 65 members of staff, and this is an ideal opportunity for a motivated individual to join the team to work with a varied portfolio of clients. JOB ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
- Attendance at client audit planning meetings
- Audit planning - complete planning on audit assignments to include risk assessments, identifying significant risk and planning audit work to mitigate the risks
- Agreeing audit timetable, briefing audit team and setting budgets
- Oversee that conduct of the onsite audit fieldwork to include review of audit team's work and be present when required on site to form client and team relationships.
- Mentoring and training of audit staff
- Dealing with client queries as they arise
- Researching and resolving technical audit and accounting issues
- Completion of the audit files ready for Partner review
- Supporting Audit Partner through to sign off
- Assistance in preparation and review of corporation tax returns and capital allowance computations
ANY SPECIFIC TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- ACA/ACCA qualified
- 2-3 years post qualified experience
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP (FRA 102 and FRS 102 1A) and International auditing Standards (UK)
- Proficient at Microsoft office especially Excel
- Experience in accounting packages e.g. IRIS, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, CCH etc
