JOB TITLE: Personal Tax Manager

ROLE TYPE: Permanent, Full Time

LOCATION: North London

HOURS/DAYS (per week): Mon - Fri (5 days per week), Office-based until probation is completed, then view for hybrid working (performance-dependant)

SALARY RANGE: £55,000 per annum (higher salaries will be considered depending on experience)

NOTICE & PROBATION PERIODS: TBC

JOB ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

The Personal Tax Return Manager will lead a team of 11 outsourcing staff, responsible for managing the preparation and submission of 1,200 personal tax returns. This role primarily involves handling basic employment and dividend income tax returns but also includes responsibility for more complex areas such as P11Ds, Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings (ATED), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), and other personal tax matters as needed.

  • The manager will ensure the accurate and timely completion of 1,200 personal tax returns, including 1,000 focused on basic employment and dividend income.
  • They will also be responsible for managing P11D forms to ensure compliance with employer benefits reporting requirements, handling ATED for clients with relevant properties, and overseeing the calculation and reporting of CGT on various asset disposals.
  • Additionally, the manager will review the work completed by the team, maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance, and ensure effective communication with clients regarding personal tax matters.
  • The role requires the use of IRIS Personal Tax software, and experience with this software is highly desirable.


ANY SPECIFIC TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • The ideal candidate should hold a qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or ATT, or studying towards a CTA qualification
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in personal tax, with a focus on managing tax returns and compliance, is required
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation, particularly in personal tax, P11Ds, ATED, and CGT, is essential
  • The candidate should have experience in managing a team, and possess strong organizational and communication skills and attention to detail 
  • Proficiency in using IRIS Personal Tax software is desirable
