About the Role
JOB TITLE: Senior Accounts Manager
ROLE TYPE: Full time, permanent
LOCATION: Hertfordshire
HOURS/DAYS (per week): Monday to Friday, 36.25 hrs per week, hybrid working (2 days at home pw)
SALARY RANGE: Very competitive
NOTICE & PROBATION PERIODS: 3 month notice, probation tbc
BENEFITS/BONUSES/HOLIDAYS: 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, along with 3 days over Christmas. Flexible working hours (core hours between 10am to 4pm) and hybrid working (2 days from home per week). Study support provided (if necessary), and also other perks/employee benefits to be discussed in further detail.

JOB ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
As a Senior Accounts Manager, you will carry out the below duties, along with other responsibilities as and when required:
- Assume overall responsibility for client assignments;
- Deliver accounts to partner for discussion with clients, free of technical error and with only major queries outstanding;
- Ensure all deadlines and budgets are met;
- Manage multiple assignments with competing demands
- Take responsibility for WIP control and billing;
- Assist in the management of the overall team on a day to day basis;
Client Relationships;
- Act as a major point of contact within the firm for client requests/needs, including discussion of billing and fees, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided and maintaining regular contact with clients;
- You will be expected to be able to write professional letters, reports and other written submissions for review by partners;
- Leads and influence meetings with clients, in the absence of partner when appropriate;
- In regular, progressive contact with clients building personal rapport
- Monitor and improves team's work to ensure consistently high standards;
- Contribute to new technical material;
- Keep up to date with all technical developments to ensure continued excellent services
- Work with partners to resolve technical problems and issues
- Identify technical issues, research and suggests solutions
Inter-personal Skills:
- Inspire confidence and have the trust of partners;
- Develop staff, their capabilities and performance; (includes ensuring job appraisal documentation is completed within deadlines and ensuring appropriate objectives and development plans are in place for appraisees). Resolve any negative issues.
- Oversee and manage clients' accounts, tax and value-added services assignments, to include monitoring progress against budget and established timeframe, review of work completed by junior team members and resolving all issues prior to Partner review.
ANY SPECIFIC TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent with 5 or more years' post-qualification experience in an accountancy practice
- Driving - Essential
- Full UK Right to Work (No Sponsorships)
- Proven client relationship skills
- Broad accounts and tax knowledge with the ability to advise clients directly
- Proficient at Microsoft office especially Excel
- Excellent knowledge of accounting packages e.g. IRIS, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks etc
- Experience of managing client assignments
